Spiller Park Coffee started out at the Ponce City Market as a coffee kiosk. Following its success, the co-owners (award-winning chef Hugh Acheson and Dale Donchey) decided to expand. For over a year now the full service location of Spiller Park Coffee has been located in the Toco Hills Shopping Center in Atlanta at 2929 North Druid Hills Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30329.
Spiller Park History and Hoolie
Spiller Park (also known as Spiller Field or Ponce de Leon Park) was the primary home field for the minor league baseball team called the Atlanta Crackers for almost six decades. The Crackers played here in the Southern Association (1907–1959) and the International League (1962–64). Hoolie was the baseball playing bear mascot of the champion 1933 Spiller Park Hooligans. Today, Hoolie is an important symbol with which Spiller Park Coffee is associated. Hoolie references abound in Spiller Park Coffee’s marketing and events (such as the recent Hoolieween event.)

Photos from my visit to Spiller Park Coffee in Toco Hills are below.
I only tried the coffee (“coffee so good we drink it ourselves”) at Spiller Park Coffee, so I will have to make a return visit to fulfill a Spiller Park Coffee motto:
Spiller Park Hooligans—ATL’s Coffee Squad—Winning in the field, showing luv in the streets, & serving our city while making damn fine coffee & toast.
